Investigative journalism is at the core of what we do. It delves into the workings of detailed aspects of the criminal justice system and role of officials in it. It informs the themes we raise in advocacy. Reporting is current and up to date – with a finger on the pulse. Our themes include, among others; procedural issues, application of the law, the judiciary, wrongful convictions, conditions in prison and the inhumane treatment of prisoners.  These have all been archived by topic.

The journalistic work of the WJP has been consistently recognised as outstanding, through the numerous awards won, including the Webber Wentzel Legal Journalist of the Year four times in row. Since 2012 the WJP journalists have published over 150 articles in major local and international publications.
